Hey all,
I am still pretty much a Rainbow Serpent Festival newbie,
having been to only two. I'm hooked, you are not going to
get rid of me in a hurry.
At RSF 2002, I was blown away by the extreme kindness and
friendliness of the crowd. It was unlike any other festival
that I had been to. After that weekend, I found myself comparing
every event or festival to Rainbow, and and nothing even came
close.
RSF 2003, didn't let me down either. One of my fondest memories
of that summer, is driving down to the local pools on those
scorching days to cool off. A friendly vibe and some sweet
beats.
These photos can not show the fun that I have at Rainbow,
but they remind me of personal times i've had and why I will
continue going to RSF's for many more years.
The top picture shows two people engaged in the fighting dance
called Capoeira. This was the first time I had seen performed
and was memorized by the agility and grace of the participants.
The bottom picture shows after dancing my little heart out
at the main stage on Sunday morning, I walked past this scene.
It shows the relationship of human and earth entwined by music
- pretty much sums up the meaning of Rainbow Serpent Festival
for me. The dancer was more then happy to let me take his
photo.
See you there in 2004,
Chris.
